Tend the Garden

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23).

Have you ever had something keep happening yet you ignore it? Over the past year or so Facebook would either disappear from my ipad or phone, end up on the last page (after an update one time) or have a glitch and not work properly. Thought nothing of it until someone was telling me about how their phone erases contacts on its own. hmmmm, one of the people it erased just happens to be the person they've got an unhealthy soul tie with. Not strange to me because I believe that God talks to us in many ways. IF we would slow down to pay attention, the answers to our prayers are there.

Today, I decided to fast from Facebook for a month. It's something I have never heard anyone say they were going to do. I know people who never opened a Facebook and right now I admire them. I admire their strength, independence and devotion to their REAL lives and priorities. It may be a bit of a sacrifice considering the majority of the population is on Facebook. But that does not make them leaders, it makes them followers. As a born again Christian, I have opened my eyes more & more, day by day, year by year to realize that there are an incredible amount of strongholds on this earth. I pray that my one month fast will bring me closer to Christ. Because He wants us to place Him first. Quiet time with my maker is important because I know that He is mighty to save, loving and forgiving. This is what I strive for concerning my future as well as my family's (when I start one.) Soon I will post my testimony as this may put all the puzzle pieces together. My focus is to get through this month placing God first EVERY DAY by spending time praying, reading, serving, listening to praise & worship songs, attending Bible study and going to work. Not that I did not do this before. The difference now is that I will not leave room for the devil anymore. Because if God is in me then it will show more and more in all that I do.

People won't improve until they're ready to. Never give up faith in them... Be sure to tend your own garden!

I'm already wondering-a couple of hours since my fast began-if I have a message or someone posted something funny (mostly unbiblical) on Facebook, lol
I see how addicted I really was/am! This is what the world is about, having us so deeply intertwined with relations that we have no time for THE ALMIGHTY in our hearts and minds.

My world should not be filled with so many messages flowing in our mind that we subconsciously covet, sin, lust, lie and build destructive soul ties etc etc etc My world should be filled with deep, meaningful relationships that elaborate God's perfect love. It should be filled with things that are pure, images of innocence, security, happiness and of course loyalty & forgiveness which is needed in order to rebuild from sin. Too many times we overlook what is being placed in front of us as entertainment or a joke forgetting that this all affects us on a subconscious level.

Here is my Facebook post and one of my favourite songs that expresses how I feel currently about God, life and where I am going. Every day, no matter what happens, I use my experiences to learn more about what God wants for my life and who/what should be omitted/added in order for me to grow stronger in Christ. I am grateful for the discernment He has given me concerning this stumbling block. Wonder what I will hear/learn/see with less outside influence during this month leading up to my birthday?!

How many can stay off Facebook for a day, for a week, for a month?! Ive always felt it over the years but it has become more apparent to me that the devil uses this as a tool to bring sin into people's lives, create unhealthy soul ties, gossip, relationship stumbling blocks and promote 666! I will avoid Facebook for a month (a fast if you will) to devote all my spare time to God (as it should be). Then see if I should omit it like I have when I gave away my TV. I only watch tv if I'm at someone else's house or the latest episode of the walking dead online (because I need to work on my preference for horror films as entertainment, lol.) Hey, I never said I was perfect!
I treasure God's perfect love and what He has in store for me. Facebook is playing with fire, a distraction-simply put. Like most of the internet. Getting anything done without the Internet is next to impossible these days (666)
It's up to me to avoid distractions in any way possible and this is my way of doing so. Please no judgments or arguments. Just speaking my mind.
I may decide to deactivate my Facebook. Since they don't allow you to erase it completely. Hmmmm, wonder why? But I won't be gone entirely as you can contact me at my blog.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21
